I am a trial lawyer with nearly twenty years experience trying criminal and civil cases in both state and federal courts.  I began my career as a Georgia state prosecutor where I gained significant trial experience in a very short period of time.  I then went to a mid-size law firm in Atlanta where I handled class action pharmaceutical defense for large pharmaceutical corporations and defended doctors in medical malpractice cases.  From there, I started my own law firm and eventually joined my husband in his law firm here in Sierra Vista.

As is often the case with a small law practice, I successfully handled a wide variety of types of cases to include criminal defense, divorce, child custody, business and contract dispute litigation, real estate litigation, personal injury litigation, insurance litigation, medical malpractice, business transactional work, probate, bankruptcy, immigration, landlord tenant, among others.  I have also handled several appeals.

I have acted as both a Mediator and an Arbitrator in numerous cases.  Arbitrators decide cases based upon the law where the parties have elected their cases to be decided in private arbitration proceedings, rather than a formal court setting.  Their role is very similar to that of a judge.

During my fifteen years in private practice, I devoted a significant amount of time to pro bono work representing many people who could not otherwise afford legal representation.  Some of my proudest achievements have been standing in the way of corporate bullies who thought they could just run over people simply because they could not afford a lawyer.

In 2018, I returned to public service working as a prosecutor for Cochise County where I worked in the Justice Courts and as the County Juvenile prosecutor.  It was my privilege to work with Juvenile probation to help get our youth on a better path to prepare them for an adult life free of crime.  I have since left that position to focus full time on my campaign for election as Judge of the Superior Court after recognizing our County's need for experienced trial lawyers on the bench.

I am a member of the Georgia and Arizona State Bar.  I have been admitted to practice law in all levels of Georgia and Arizona state courts, including the Georgia Supreme Court and the Arizona Supreme Court.  In addition, I am admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court of Arizona, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
